With a remarkable career spanning five decades, KANSAS is one of America's quintessential classic rock bands. Originating as a "garage band" in Topeka, they released their first album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold. The band has sold over 30 million albums globally, with a discography that includes sixteen studio albums and five live albums. They have achieved eight gold albums and three sextuple-Platinum albums, including "Leftoverture" and "Point of Know Return," along with a quadruple-Platinum single, "Carry On Wayward Son," and a triple-Platinum single, "Dust in the Wind." KANSAS enjoyed over 200 weeks on the Billboard charts during the '70s and '80s while performing to packed arenas across North America, Europe, and Japan. Their single "Carry On Wayward Son" remains a classic rock radio favorite, while "Dust In the Wind" has garnered over three million radio plays. The band's sixteenth studio album, "The Absence of Presence," was released in the summer of 2020, debuting at #10 on Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart, following 2016’s "The Prelude Implicit." Current band members include vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, keyboardist/vocalist Tom Brislin, guitarist Zak Rizvi, guitarist Scott Bernard, violinist/guitarist Joe Deninzon, bassist/vocalist Dan McGowan, original guitarist Richard Williams, and drummer Phil Ehart. Eric Holmquist is filling in on drums as Phil recovers from a major heart attack. KANSAS continues to deliver electrifying performances.
